Rocket Dog Rescue – Rescue a Dog and Save a Life

Welcome to Kraken Corgi! We offer dog care tips, dog training advice, and more!

Rocket Dog RescueRocket Dog Rescue is based out of the San Francisco Bay Area.  This is a dog rescue ran by volunteers.  Rocket Dog Rescue saves dogs from crowded shelters and death row.  These dogs are placed in foster care until a suitable home is found for the dogs.  Rocket Dog Rescue has saved the lives of over 4,000 dogs!

If you are wanting to adopt a dog, consider adopting a dog from Rocket Dog Rescue.  If you aren’t able to adopt, there are other ways you can help out this dog rescue organization.

Make a Difference With Rocket Dog Rescue

  • Foster a Dog – Rocket Dog Rescue is a dog rescue but they don’t actually have a shelter, instead they depend on a dog foster home network to provide their rescues with a safe temporary home.  The more foster homes in the network, the more dogs that can be saved.  There are foster home requirements.  You must be willing to work with the dog placed in your home and help get them ready for their new forever home.  This includes socializing the dog, potty training, and basic training.  If you are interested in opening your house and heart to a dog in need then check out this page for more information on becoming a foster home.
  • Make a Donation – Donations to Rocket Dog Rescue go directly to saving the lives of dogs.  This rescue doesn’t have any office overhead and relies on volunteers, there isn’t any paid staff.  The money you donate will go towards the dogs.  If you are interested in making a cash donation or donating an old car then check out this link.
  • Volunteer Your Time – Rocket Dog Rescue is always looking for volunteers.  If you would like to be a volunteer, you will need to attend a volunteer orientation.  These orientations are held the 2nd Sunday of each month at Stonestown Pet Food Express in San Francisco, CA from 11:00 – 11:45 am.  For more info you can email them at volunteers@rocketdogrescue.org.    Volunteers under 18 years old must have written parental permission.
  • Provide Transportation – Volunteer drivers are needed to help get dogs to grooming and vet appointments, as well as mobile adoption events.
  • Help Rocket Dog Rescue While You Shop – This is a cool way to “donate” to a good cause – dog rescue while shopping and it won’t cost you anything extra!  Simply go to www.igive.com and choose “Rocket Dog Rescue” as your charity.  Then go shopping, its that simple!  You can read more information about helping Rocket Dog Rescue while you shop here.
